La Zélée is a reef located 110 km northeast of Mayotte and 122 km southwest of the Glorieuses islands, as well as 300 km west of the northern tip of Madagascar. The shoal dominates the 3,500 m-deep abyssal depths that separate it from Mayotte. The shoal is located close to the Geyser shoal, which is no longer accessible since its classification as a national nature reserve in 2021.
Shaped like a crescent, with its points facing west, the Zélée shoal emerges only at low tide, with the exception of a few rocks to the south. It is around 8 km long, with an oval shape around 5 km wide, and covers an area of 175 km². The largest rock in the southern part rises to almost 8 m, while the others are between 1 and 3 m high, with a few grasses and shrubs.
Customers welcome at 1pm, boarding, departure for the Zélée shoal, sailing between 20 and 24 hours.
Arrival at Zélée Bank For the next 7 days, 2 dives per day with a minimum surface interval of 1 hour. The various dive sites are the Beaver Bank and Cap Sébastien.
After the last dives at Cape Sebastian, we'll sail to the Mitsio and drop anchor on the large Mitsio.
After 2 dives in the morning, we return to Nosy Be in the late afternoon and finally disembark.
